History Active and Bristol have been in the metal finishing and plating industry since 1962 and 1957, respectively. They have been under the ownership of current president Allan Phillips since 1987. The plant had to be extended a number of times due to the growing market demand. In 1963, a warehouse was added and by 1972, the neighboring building was purchased as additional factory area. Active was founded by Henry Stendon in 1962 and first started operating from their Bering Street location in Etobicoke before moving to the present location. The consolidation of the two privately owned companies saw an extensive expansion of production and service capabilities in 1998 and 1999. The factory was also retrofitted at the same time to offer a complete range of plating to our customers. Included in the facility upgrade were office renovations and an enterprise-wide computerization of all aspects of company operations. This long history is the foundation from which Active and Bristol will continue to set new standards of plating excellence in Canada. |
