Plating on Aluminum

Description
This process involves preparation of aluminum surfaces to accept plating. See application.

Post Finish
Most plating processes are available after treatment, including nickel, chrome, silver, tin, zinc and other processes.

Rack or Barrel
This process is normally performed on a racking line. A barrel line is an option for high volume smaller parts.

Special Treatment
A range of special treatment options are available.

Maximum Size
The plating tank size is 12 x 2.5 x 5 ft. Maximum size for the barrel line is also 12 x 2.5 x 5 ft.

Thickness
Range from flash (less than one-tenth) to 1 thou (0.001 inch) for plating

ASTM, MIL, QQ or to customer specifications

Base Material
This process is available for aluminum base materials – sheet, bar and castings.
